General Information

On this page you as an organizer can find necessary information about the start system to be able to use it during your next tournament.

If you are interested in using this system you are free to download schematics and source code from Github and produce the parts.
You can also order ready to use modules and remotes from our shop. If you are interested or have questions feel free to contact us.

General information for organizers
The purpose of the remote start system is to make matches more fair by eliminating false starts. This will also be time saving since there will be less restarts.

The remote start system is a none profit development. It has been developed by people at Chalmers Robotic Society with close feedback from RobotChallenge.org and BalticRobotSumo.org. It is an open source and hardware project.
The projected is maintained via Github it is open source and open hardware.
If you want to manufacture your own modules you are free to do so but please don’t modify to a level so that the modules are no longer able to operate together with existing modules/remotes.

The aim during the development have been to build a system that is

  • As cheap possible.
  • Simple to use.
  • Being robust in terms of working on all types of robots and not being disturbed by poor supply voltage.
  • Possible to run several matches next to each other.

  1. Hello,

I’m organizing sumo competitions for Robotex 2014 and I’d like to order 5 referee remotes. Are there any available?

    Best regards,
    Mikk
